About Us
Glory Bound Groove Train was formed in 1997 under the musical directorship of Linda Calgaro. Performing a repertoire of African-American Gospel and Gospel inspired music, Glory Bound Groove Train is an acappella (unaccompanied) choir of 18 spirited voices, with an edge.

Since forming, Glory Bound Groove Train has performed almost continually, appearing at the World Peace Forum at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre, the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Town Hall (for the Metropolitan Community Church Christmas Eve service; 2000, 2001, and 2002), in clubs and churches, and at community events throughout Sydney.

Our solo shows in Rozelle (2004) and Paddington (2003, 2005) were sold out, and other performance highlights include guest appearances at concerts, parties, charity fund-raisers, weddings and other services. Coming up to our tenth anniversary in 2007, our membership and our repertoire continue to grow and develop.

The choir appeals to a range of audiences no matter their musical or religious preference. We have received praise for the energy and joy of Glory Bound Groove Train performances. Most important to us is the opportunity to share our singing with people who love music with soul and heart.
